After graduating in Mechanical Engineering from the University La Sapienza of Rome, Valerio Menichini started his career in Alenia Spazio, a company designing and manufacturing satellite telecommunication systems, and, after a short time, he became Project Manager for international projects.

From 1990 to 1996 he worked as R&D and Quality Director for Strand Lighting, a leading British multinational company specializing in designing and manufacturing lighting systems for TV and cinema studios and theatres.  

In 1996 he moved to the most important Italian competitor, De Sisti Lighting, as Production Director.

In 2000 he joined IC Interconsult, a Head Hunting company of the I.C. Group, part of the international network Accord Group, specializing in search and selection at a managerial level. He dealt with business development and project management for leading companies in the Industrial, Health Care and IT / TLC sectors.   

In 2001 the activities of the I.C. Group were taken over by Heidrick & Struggles International (H&S), a Nasdaq listed American company and leader in the executive search: the aim was to participate for Italy in the launch of the new H&S - Management Search Division, focussing on middle management.

Within H&S Valerio Menichini carried out business development and project management activities in the Industry and Healthcare practices.

In December 2002 he set up Human Value, operating mainly in the Industrial and Manufacturing sectors, with a particular focus on the Operations functions.

Valerio Menichini has two daughters, speaks fluent English and in his free time loves doing sport.
