Competency mapping

We measure the competency level of Management and personnel within a company as a starting point to carry out effective development plans.

Core competencies represent the know-how and behaviors of a company which are essential to achieving the corporate mission.  Investing in their development to enable the workforce to contribute to the success of the business is fundamental.  For this reason, after having defined the strategic competiences necessary for each corporate role, the relative behaviors to adopt to achieve levels of excellence are established.
The professionals at HR Consulting offer their experience to companies to assist them in developing competency mapping for an individual or for one or more professional categories, a business area, or the entire company.

The objectives of this activity are to:

  • identify the current and expected level of “key” competencies;
  • plan necessary actions to ensure development of these competencies;
  • carry out continuous monitoring of the progress achieved.

To answer to different mapping needs, HR Consulting provides customized services through three types of tools:

  • 360° Feedback, is an online survey which measures the level of competency of a member of the workforce through self-assessment integrated with evaluations from colleagues, collaborators, clients, and suppliers;
  • Assessment, is a tool used to evaluate potential and to identify the set of personal attitudes and behaviors of a subject with respect to the ideal execution of a particular role;
  • 3D Leadership, is a survey which measures the level of leadership of managers and how they respond to the needs of their teams.

The mapping process is divided into different phases:

  • definition of core competiences
  • analysis of the relationship between the ideal profile and the current profile
  • questionnaire definition
  • improvement gap definition
  • comparisons between end users and direct supervisors
  • provide feedback to both supervisors and personnel
  • definition and sharing of the development path
  • create and plan activities
  • implementing interventions: workshops, training, coaching, follow-ups
